Mauricio Mejía was born in San Salvador, El Salvador in 1976. He is a painter and sculptor who often uses found objects in his works to create a dialogue between art and the environment. His most famous works include “La Libertad en Peligro” (Freedom in Danger), a sculpture that depicts the danger that El Salvador’s natural resources face due to human exploitation.
